A couple of slices of buttered white bread for lunch. I am not particularly hungry having et a chicken kiev pie and drunk an iced mocha for breakfast. And it’s too hot to be hungry really. Now I’m going back to lying down and reading. And there will be napping too. I’m revisiting Mr Pratchett – Unseen Academicals – because every time I read one of his books I discover something I didn’t notice last time. This time I was tickled by:
“Juliet didn’t exactly wash dishes, she gave them a light baptism……..‘Look, you just have to scrub a bit, that’s all,’ she
snapped after a few seconds of listless dipping, and took the brush out of Juliet’s perfect hand, and then, as the grease was sent down the drain, she thought: I’ve done it again. Actually, I’ve done it again again. How many times is that? I even used to play with her dolls for her! Plate after plate sparkled under Glenda’s hands. Nothing cleans stubborn stains like suppressed anger.”
