Trump has vetoed a bill to fund a project to bring fresh water to dozens of communities in Colorado, the Finish the Arkansas Valley Conduit (AVC) Act. The bill passed both houses of Congress unanimously. It is broadly assumed that the veto is a retributive response to Lauren Boebert’s role in forcing the release of the Epstein files.

Congress does have the power to override the veto, with a two-thirds vote in each house. As Speaker, Michael Johnson can block the override vote from taking place in the House of Reps. Given that the bill has unanimous support, this issue may be a key test for Johnson.
