The US president has already taken aim at other countries, including Colombia, Mexico and Cuba. He’s indicated America could take military action in Colombia. But Brian Fonseca, director of the Jack D. Gordon Institute for Public Policy at the University of Florida, said Trump’s comments were “grandstanding”. The US and Colombia have a long-standing relationship on several issues, including security, Mr Fonseca said. He believed the US president was more likely to be interested in intervening in Cuba and Nicaragua.
