They seem to be letting this play out so they can win some seats in November. by which time it may be a bit too late: the world might be in a deep depression by then of greater scale than the 1930s. Something needs to stop the war within the next few days or weeks. Not months from now when it all is gone to pot already. There is no sense of urgency in the US political ecosystem.

No, there’s years of rot, and a host of fuckwits to be purged. But if the war can be stopped for the sake of the rest of the world that is all I care about right now. It is not just oil and gas, it is fertilisers too. Poor nations won’t be able to plant crops and grow food. by November some countries might be on the brink of starvation and collapse. Also, the middle east Arab states import nearly all their food, if no wheat and sheep and cattle are getting in they might starve too. And what if the middle east desalination plants gets blown up too, there will be millions dying. This is avoidable and can’t wait till November.
