Pretty crap atm, thanks for asking. The disks between the lower three lumbar vertebrae are compressed and pressing on the nerves, so I’m currently in a lot of pain that drugs don’t seem to affect at all.

Aww shit. What a sucky situation. Is this something new? Hope you manage to find something to kill the pain, or at least make you not care about it anymore.

It’s been going on for about a year, but until recently it’s been tolerable. It’s now reached the point that I can’t sit, stand, or lie down without being in agony. The doc’s got me on some strong analgesics, but they’re not doing anything any more. I’m at the point now that I’m seriously considering cutting the nerve myself. I know there are local pain specialists, but I can’t see them without a referral, which my GP is reluctant to give me., though I’m not really sure why. I’m seeing him next week, so I’ll start making demands. This is no longer tolerable.
