No. Told me to “go to Diabetes Australia web site where there is a lot of useful information”. And gave me a prescription for Metformin 500 mg to be taken three times a day with meals (phased in).

I take slow release Metformin 1000mg twice a day, and Gliclazide 60mg once a day.
