Plans for today changed after a late night phone call from MIL. Having returned from Japan, she discovered no trains are running due to track work, and can’t get home. So I’m picking her up from a hotel near the airport then driving her home to Gympie. So much for us conserving fuel…

But first, taking Mini Me to the environmental centre for a talk and walk about echidnas. She’s excited for it and we had to pre-book so that takes precedence as far as I’m concerned.

I thought there were trackworks by-pass busses provided. Otherwise Greyhound etc.

The buses aren’t running as frequently as the trains, plus obviously they don’t have the capacity.

Did you get her there? Did it cost a lot in fuel?
