Kind of funny, Curtis James Jackson III and Marshall Bruce Mathers III have permanent reminders of their fathers in their names, while having never having had significant contact with them and also kind of detesting them.

My eldest son has my father’s first name as his middle name. Younger son has his father’s first name as his middle name. They have both of our family names, no hyphen. Unfortunately son#2 has their deadshit father’s name smack dab in the middle of his full name. I have never said anything to son#2 about my regret over this, he obviously knows.

As his father has a criminal record (youthful traffic and drug charges before I met him, ask him about Boggo Road) in the grand old state of Queensland, I was worried that it might cause problems when son#2 came to the USA to rescue his mama.

I wanted the boys to have both family names, and for them to choose what they wanted when they were adults.
