So far my trivia is a bit buffy-centric so if the rest of you can post something interesting, that’d be great 👍🏼

I missed a couple of days cos I was too busy to look through forum activities.

The Insurance actually committed fraud about one of the claims, so it wasn’t pre-existing mould. The main reason was fraud and out and out lying. Which one day I will publish here. A five-year-old could pick it up. So ridiculous.

Like doctors, you don’t really know whether insurance companies are good or bad for you until you have finished with their services.

So painfully true.

One of the tradies turned up and was screaming two centimetres from my face (I was masked) about why the plumber hadn’t done his job. That he had no photos. That he did not know what he was meant to do.

Another plumber turned up. One to fix the work of the other one. Same another the plasterers. They had to send out another plasterer to fix the other ones work.

It has been very humbling and extremely humiliating experience. I have no experience in building so I don’t know who to trust or what needs to be done.

I had no idea that my PTSD could get so aggravated and get so exponentially worse. I am now having burning in my skull panic attacks. I have not had those before.

I put in A LOT of complaints in. They still sent out the aggressive guy and the guy who doctored the photos. It was just ridiculous.

So I put in complaints in with the Insurance Compliance Committee, ASIC and the Australian Financial Complaints Authority.

I want policy and HR changes (First draft)

If it is a tree, you need an arborist, not a plasterer, the person has to be qualified for the job,

No mould remediation from a plasterer with mould being left uncontained.

If a tradie is aggressive, screaming, abusive, and intimidating he needs never to attend that premises again. Neither should any other worker from the company who has behaved inappropriately.

That if a tradie commits fraud by doctoring a photo they should not be used to “assess” the competency of another plasterer or contractor. (Came from the same contractor the aggressive, screaming tradie came from) “.

Policy changes:

Trauma informed training.

Enough employees so they can read and respond to their emails.

Not being bounced between one group of people to another. – K example to E phone call.

Some semblance of site management.

Paying promplty on time if the customer is organising this for the Insurance. No one should have to wait to be reimbursed for a month.

Clear communication – I was told workers would continue over the Xmas break and New Years – one person attended. I could have gone away for two weeks for a break.

If I had been a woman on my own. I couldn’t have done it. Likewise for so many vulnerable people.

Complaining is the silver lining to hopefully to improve things for others.
