This house smells of tomato sauce. It is bubbling on the stove.
Must be the morning for cooking – My house now smells of Anzac biscuits – waiting for them to cool so we can have a cup of tea and a bikkie. We will be having Canberra Tea from T2 – might even sit outside in the garden, as it is such a lovely day.
D’oh! I meant to make Anzac bikkies for the nursery yesterday, but got sidetracked into nostalgic jam drops instead. Funny though, our young Mexican volunteer brought carrot sticks that were sprinkled with lime and chilli or pepper, and they were the biggest hit. She invited my grandson over to her place for a Mexican cooking session which was really nice.
It is a lovely day here after a showery start. My morning beach crew were going to have our own remembrance service but the drizzle put paid to that.
I was going to do some garden pottering but it turned into a couple of hours of crazy vegie patch work instead, pulling out things that are past it and harvesting other things. I got a kilo of purple sweet potatoes that I didn’t know were ready. Sitting down for a read back and cup of tea and jam drop bikkie now.
I’m glad you did all those things. I wanted to do some weeding and veggie-ing but it’s not going to happen today. Lower back muscles are still inclined to cramp at inopportune moments, leaving me bent over and looking ridiculous. And making odd noises.
