Oh no, how frustrating Buffy. Heh heh, I know all about making odd noises, as the body gets creakier and creakier.

I’m sure you probably know about the piriformis stretch? I use it all the time as it helps fix my dodgy knee and hip, but it also helps sciatic pain I’m told. Plus it is such an easy stretch, you can do it sitting, standing lying down. You can even do it drinking a beer!

After discussions here I also bought a heat pad yesterday, used it for half an hour while I read and it was very nice indeed. Perhaps that helped get me out into the garden properly today

I love the piriformis stretch. I do it lying down (on the floor, more effective for me than on the bed) several times a week and in general it keeps things moving and I don’t keep losing feeling in half a foot sporadically. I’ve been doing it for well over 10 years now as part of a general stretching routine. I use this version, but my left hand would be pulling the knee across, I don’t hold my ankle:

I’m glad you do it but sad that your sciatic nerve is giving you grief in spite of doing them and your others. :(((
Bad sciatic nerve

Bad mower that wouldn’t start after umpteen pulls last Monday…
