Having not heard of it before, I thought it was AustraLind with a lowercase L
it is a town just north of Bunbury in WA, although might now have been caught up in Bunbury’s urban sprawl.
The train service from Perth to Bunbury has for some reason always been called The Australind, even though it doesn’t terminate there. Anyway, the rail line in Perth had been closed for about two years for reconstruction as an elevated trackway, so the train to Bunbury hasn’t run for a while. The old diesel trains were getting a bit old (1980’s vintage) and suffering from breakdowns and such. They have now built a brand new train, which will start operating the route again soon. I’d like to have a ride on it some day.
