I imagine so.

IIRC, I paid less than that for a 454 g packet at a Korean grocery store in Brisbane. After opening, I keep Gochugaru in the fridge. (I had two previous packs that I didn’t refrigerate and they went mouldy.)

Here’s a much cheaper packet – $5.40 for half a pound (227 g). This mob also has bigger sizes.

Ta.

About how much would be needed for the average large wombok?

I think the last Wombok I bought was around 1.6 kg, but I have bought them up to 4.5 kg.

If you put the figures shown on the spreadsheet extract into a spreadsheet, you can scale the amounts to suit.

The amounts I use (shown on that spreadsheet extract) are to make 800 ml, and suit a 1 litre container with 200 ml ullage.
