How out of date would flour have to be in your house before you ditched it?

If rancid-smelling, mouldy or insect affected, I put it to the compost. I keep flour in large glass jars, but I don’t keep the use-by-date.

Apparently I’ve never had flour go out of date. The only time I’ve had to throw any out was when the pantry bugs got into everything.

My father used to call them, extra protein.
