If rancid-smelling, mouldy or insect affected, I put it to the compost. I keep flour in large glass jars, but I don’t keep the use-by-date.

Apparently I’ve never had flour go out of date. The only time I’ve had to throw any out was when the pantry bugs got into everything.

I find those Moccona jars well sealed against pantry moths and weevils.
