You cannot make a believer into a non-believer through counselling or anything like that. For example, there are some people who survived Waco that still revere David Koresh and think that he will return resurrected, while others are have seen the error of their ways and reject him as a conman.

For me science and knowledge are the truth of the world
They aren’t going to solve most of humanities crisis though as we are flawed and misuse them for short term gain, power and profit.
It’s possible evolved beings are flawed to the point they self destruct
Male aggression is a very dangerous trait as we can see with examples everywhere, it may need to be engineered out of us.
